CF Talavera defeats Albacete to win Trofeo de la Junta

CF Talavera won the Trofeo de la Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha after defeating Albacete Balompié 1-0 in the final held at La Fuensanta in Cuenca. The match was played under heavy rain.

Sergio Benito scored the decisive goal in the 25th minute, striking the ball toward the short post to beat goalkeeper Diego Mariño. Despite Albacete attempting to equalize in the second half—including a shot that hit the post by Albarracín—Talavera's defense and goalkeeper Alonso Torres maintained the lead until the final whistle.

The loss marks a difficult period for Albacete under new manager Joseba Etxeberria, as the team continues to struggle for a victory this season against opponents from lower categories.
