CFE announces scheduled power outages in Coahuila and Hidalgo

The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) has scheduled power outages in several Mexican regions for late August 2026 to perform maintenance and infrastructure improvements.

In Coahuila, ten communities across the municipalities of Francisco I. Madero and San Pedro will experience an eight-hour outage. The suspension is scheduled from 11:00 PM on Thursday, August 27, until 7:00 AM on Friday, August 28. Affected areas in Francisco I. Madero include La Pinta, Gabino Vázquez, San Juan de Ulúa, and 18 de Marzo, while San Pedro communities include Albia, La Victoria, San Pedro de las Colonias, Sofía de Abajo, and San José de la Noria.

In Hidalgo, residents of Metztitlán, specifically in Miahuatlán, San Juan, and Tlazoquitipa, will face a service interruption lasting approximately seven and a half hours on Friday, August 28. The outage is expected to run from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM to allow for preventive maintenance, including cable replacement and inspection of medium-voltage structures.

Authorities recommend that residents in both regions disconnect electrical appliances to prevent damage from voltage fluctuations and ensure electronic devices are fully charged before the scheduled interruptions.
