CFL names August 2026 Players of the Month

The Canadian Football League (CFL) has named Zander Horvath, KeeSean Johnson, and Tyson Philpot as the Players of the Month for August 2026. The selection was made by a panel representing the league’s Football Operations, Player and Game Statistics, and Content departments based on performances during Weeks 10 through 13.

Zander Horvath of the BC Lions earned the honor after recording 371 rushing yards and eight total touchdowns in August. He currently leads the league in rushing majors and total touchdowns.

KeeSean Johnson of the Saskatchewan Roughriders was recognized for averaging 102.3 receiving yards per game in August, totaling 409 yards and two touchdowns.

Tyson Philpot of the Montreal Alouettes also received the award, having recorded 26 receptions for 293 yards and six touchdowns during the month. Philpot currently leads the league in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.
