CAF secures 150M EUR Paris tram-train contract amid European rail updates
CAF has secured a contract exceeding 150 million EUR to supply 15 tram-trains for the T13 line in the Île-de-France region. The project aims to extend the line toward Achères, improving connectivity and increasing service frequency to one train every 10 minutes during peak hours.
In Romania, CFR SA is implementing significant structural changes. Interim Minister Radu Miruță has approved a new performance-based evaluation system for the company's Board of Directors for the 2027-2031 mandate. Leadership will now be held accountable for measurable outcomes, including reducing train delays, minimizing infrastructure unavailability by 8% annually on key routes, and reducing financial losses by 5% per year. Additionally, a contract has been signed with TPF Inginerie for the implementation of the ERTMS signaling system and GSM-R communications on the Predeal-Bucharest-Constanța route.
