CFR SA reports drivers trapped at Petricani railway crossing
Drivers have been caught driving between barriers at the Petricani railway crossing, leading the Romanian national railway company, CFR SA, to report the incident to the police. The footage shows motorists entering the tracks before the semi-barriers have fully lifted, resulting in vehicles becoming trapped when the barriers descend again.
CFR SA warned that the system can enter a new warning cycle if another train approaches, causing the barriers to lower unexpectedly. The company emphasized that motorists must wait for the barriers to be completely raised and for signaling to allow passage. They also cautioned against entering the crossing if there is insufficient space to clear the tracks entirely.
The Petricani crossing is located on Magistrala 800, a heavily trafficked line used by trains traveling to and from the coast. CFR SA stated that such dangerous behavior threatens the safety of drivers, passengers, and railway personnel, and has requested increased police prevention and control measures in the area.
