CGC resumes oil drilling operations in Santa Cruz

CGC has commenced drilling operations in Santa Cruz, marking the first drilling activity in the province in over two and a half years. The deployment of the 001 drilling rig at the Tres Picos field in Cañadón León is viewed as a turning point for the local oil basin.

Rafael Güenchenen, general secretary of the Sindicato Petrolero, Gas Privado y Energías Renovables (SIPGER), visited the site to confirm the resumption of activities. He noted that the return of drilling is the result of months of management and discussions aimed at restoring growth to the petroleum industry and providing job stability for workers who had been on standby for over a year.
