CGE disconnects 97 services over 380 million peso debt in Talca

The electricity distribution company CGE disconnected 97 residential meters in the Villa Las Américas sector of Talca due to unpaid debts exceeding 380 million pesos. The operation was conducted by five brigades with support from Carabineros and the PDI to ensure security during the procedure.

CGE zonal manager Rodolfo Gutiérrez stated that the company will continue seeking to regularize these payments, noting that many debts have been outstanding for years. During the operation, technicians also identified several irregular connections and tampered meters used to reduce consumption, which the company noted is a criminal act that compromises service quality and safety.
