CGE donates over 1,500 books to Chilean schools

As part of its “Ilumina Program,” the electricity distributor CGE has begun donating books to schools within its service areas in Chile. The initiative follows an internal campaign titled “Ilumina con un Libro,” in which employees across the company’s 13 service regions collected more than 1,500 texts, including novels and comics.

The first delivery took place at Colegio PuenteMaipo in Puente Alto, where approximately 800 new titles were added to the school library. School director Oscar Garrido noted that the donation expands the library's catalog and encourages literacy among students.

Two additional deliveries are planned for other educational institutions: Escuela Punta de Parra in the Biobío region and Escuela Básica de Monte Patria Wenceslao Vargas in the Coquimbo region.
