CGE implements bank transfer payments for 3.4 million customers

Chilean electricity distributor CGE has integrated bank transfer payments into its digital channels, a move affecting more than 3.4 million customers. Developed in partnership with Fintoc, the new system allows users to pay their electricity bills directly from their bank accounts via the CGE website.

The integration enables online confirmation within the same process, eliminating the need for manual data entry or the submission of payment receipts. This update follows a trend in Chile where electronic transfers have increased by 15% over the last year, according to the Central Bank's 2026 Payment Systems Report, though interbank transfers for commercial payments currently represent less than 10% of such operations.
