CGE trains special education teachers in neuroscience and AI
The CGE has launched a training program for special education teachers focusing on the intersection of neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence. The initiative aims to provide educators with conceptual frameworks to understand cognitive processes involved in learning, such as attention, memory, emotion, executive functions, and metacognition.
The program explores how to integrate AI into educational practices with pedagogical criteria and a critical perspective. Topics include the possibilities and limitations of AI in lesson planning, resource creation, activity design, and student feedback. Alexia Mors, Director of Special Education at the CGE, stated that the goal is to promote AI integration that enhances teaching and learning while preserving teacher mediation, autonomy, and critical thinking.
The training consists of two virtual sessions. The first took place on Tuesday, October 6, and the second is scheduled for October 20.
