CGMSC Ayurvedic medicine tender faces fraud allegations
A legal notice has been served to the Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation Limited (CGMSC) regarding alleged irregularities in a tender for Ayurvedic medicines intended for government hospitals.
Advocate Neelam Singh Yadav has accused two state-owned companies, Karnataka Antibiotics and Pharmaceuticals Limited (KAPL) and HLL Lifecare Limited, of submitting fraudulent documentation. The complaint alleges that KAPL claimed production of eight specific Ayurvedic medicines—including Lavan Bhaskar Churna and Sitopaladi Churna—over the last three years, despite records indicating no production at their Dharwad unit during the 2023-26 financial years.
Additionally, HLL Lifecare Limited is accused of discrepancies regarding the names and standards of 10 Ayurvedic medicines in its bid. The legal notice demands the forfeiture of the companies' security deposits, a three-to-five-year ban from government procurement, and a full investigation into the matter. The tender in question, originally issued on June 22, 2026, was subsequently canceled.
