Chợ Lớn lantern street prepares for Mid-Autumn Festival
The lantern street in the Chợ Lớn area of Ho Chi Minh City is preparing for the Mid-Autumn Festival under the theme ‘Chợ Lớn Full Moon Night - Mid-Autumn Colors’. Local authorities have invested in decorations, environmental sanitation, security, and free Wi-Fi along the street to enhance the experience for visitors and promote the area as a signature tourism product.
Despite the vibrant atmosphere and many tourists visiting to take photographs, some long-time vendors report a slower sales pace compared to previous years. While the street is filled with thousands of various lanterns, including traditional bamboo and star-shaped models, some merchants noted that the purchasing volume has not matched the level of foot traffic seen in previous seasons.
