Chía and Cajicá emerge as popular residential alternatives to Bogotá

The municipality of Chía, located north of Bogotá in the Sabana de Bogotá, is attracting families and professionals seeking larger homes, green spaces and easy access to the capital. Its main corridors – Autopista Norte, Avenida Pradilla and the variant toward Cota – host new apartment complexes, gated communities and commercial centers, while the town centre offers traditional shops, schools and medical facilities. Proximity to Bogotá’s employment hub and improving inter‑municipal transport make Chía a sought‑after suburb.

Cajicá, also in Cundinamarca’s Sabana Centro, is experiencing similar growth. The town combines residential projects ranging from apartments to garden houses with a historic centre that provides daily commerce and public services. Its strategic position links it to Chía, Tocancipá’s industrial zone and Bogotá, supported by a network of roads that facilitate commuting. New developments in corridors such as Canelón, Capellanía and Chuntame expand housing options for those who want a quieter environment without losing access to the capital’s amenities.
