Chabad-Lubavitch releases new children's songs and honors campaign history

New Yiddish songs have been released to convey messages from the Rebbe to children, marking 50 years since Mivtza Chinuch and the 12 Pessukim. Composed by Mushka Lishner of Beis Chaya Mushka in Crown Heights, the songs utilize lyrics based on the Rebbe’s Sichos and adapted quotes from ‘Der Rebbe Redt Tzu Kinder’. The recordings, produced by the Tzeirei Hatemimim Kapelye, are available on various streaming platforms including Spotify and 24Six.

In a related historical account regarding the Rebbe’s campaigns, the origins of Mivtza Neshek are detailed. Launched in 1974, the campaign encouraged Jewish women and girls to light Shabbos and Yom Tov candles to combat spiritual darkness. The initiative involved a personal commitment from the Rebbe, who offered two dimes to every girl who began lighting candles, a distribution coordinated by Esther Sternberg of the Lubavitch Women’s Organization.
