Chablis Marathon to host 4,400 participants in vineyard setting
The 7th edition of the Chablis Marathon is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, bringing together 4,400 runners and walkers within the Chablis vineyards. The event coincides with the Chablis Wine Festival and offers various formats, including a marathon, semi-marathon, 14 km race, two hikes, and children's races.
Organizers expect significant turnout, with women making up 45% of participants. The event draws diversity from 85 French departments and 500 international participants. To manage the crowds, 490 volunteers are working alongside local associations and state services.
Defending champions and notable runners include Anne Maire in the women's marathon, and Alexandre Bourgeois and Matthieu Bourgeois in the men's categories. The day will also feature live music from approximately 100 musicians to accompany the courses.
