Chaco Chamber of Deputies approves reform for State Prosecutor's Office

The Chaco Chamber of Deputies has approved a reform to the Organic Law of the State Prosecutor's Office (Fiscalía de Estado). The reform, identified as project N° 1377/26, passed with 27 affirmative votes out of 28 legislators present.

The new legislation reorganizes the internal structure of the agency to address an increasing volume of administrative cases. Key changes include the recategorization of several roles, such as Secretary of Proceedings, Relator Secretary, and Head of IT, as well as the creation of three new Relator Secretary positions.

A central component of the reform is the granting of greater autonomy to the State Prosecutor's Office. The agency will now manage its own administrative summary processes entirely, removing the need for intervention from the Directorate of Summaries under the General Government Advisory. This shift aims to align the agency's operations with its constitutionally recognized autonomy.
