Chaco Deputy proposes official recognition of International Female Orgasm Day

Teresa Cubells, a provincial deputy for Chaco, has introduced Resolution Project No. 1865/26 to the Chaco Chamber of Deputies. The proposal seeks the province's official adherence to International Female Orgasm Day, observed annually on August 8.

The initiative aims to promote comprehensive sexual health, bodily autonomy, and the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of women. The text urges the Executive branch to launch public awareness and education campaigns through the Ministries of Health and Education, focusing on self-knowledge, the prevention of symbolic violence, and gender-perspective sexual education.

During the presentation, Cubells addressed the chamber to advocate for recognizing female sexual pleasure as an essential dimension of integral health. Her remarks, which included a call to “silence the voices of machirules,” drew significant attention during a session that was otherwise focused on provincial economic emergencies and road safety. The project has been referred to a committee for further debate.
