Chaco education cuts impact vocational school in Resistencia
Daniel Liberatti, a history professor and board member of Escuela de Gestión Social N° 1, has denounced an “arbitrary” reduction of 88 teaching hours for professional training by the provincial Ministry of Education in Chaco.
The cuts directly impact the institution located in the southern zone of Resistencia, which serves vulnerable communities such as Mate Cocido, 29 de Agosto, and San José. The reduction affects a student body of over 400 individuals across initial, primary, and secondary levels, as well as community workshops.
According to Liberatti, the loss of these hours dismantles essential social support services, including the psychopedagogical unit and vocational workshops covering electricity, hairdressing, computing, blacksmithing, and bakery. He noted that the decision effectively removes psychological care and community projects, such as vegetable gardens, from the area.
