Chaco honors indigenous women for cultural contributions
The Government of Chaco, through its Institute of Culture, held a ceremony at the Chamber of Deputies to honor women from indigenous communities for their contributions to culture, education, and community development.
The initiative, part of the Indigenous Peoples Program, recognized women from the Qom and Wichí peoples for their work in preserving ancestral languages, transmitting traditional knowledge, strengthening intercultural education, and defending their cultural heritage.
Among the honorees were Fiorella Anahí Gómez, a Qom visual artist and singer, and Vanesa González, a Qom intercultural teacher. Provincial officials, including Legislative President Carmen Delgado and Institute of Culture official Marcelo Dojas, emphasized the importance of making this labor visible to preserve collective memory for future generations.
