Chaco Minister Peche disputes opposition claims over election costs
Minister Carim Peche has criticized the opposition in Chaco, accusing them of spreading misinformation regarding the costs of upcoming national elections. Peche specifically targeted former governor Jorge Capitanich and other leaders who previously held management roles, questioning how they could be unaware that national elections are funded by the federal government rather than the province.
Peche dismissed the opposition's financial arguments as improvised political strategies and part of a ‘Kirchnerist narrative.’ He stated that provincial spending for the last national election was approximately 40 million pesos, primarily used for dissemination and training through a cooperation agreement with the Federal Judiciary, rejecting claims of multi-billion peso expenditures. Peche noted that his comments reflect his personal opinion rather than the official stance of his legislative bloc.
