Chaco presents 2027 budget with 18% salary update for state workers
The government of Chaco, led by Governor Leandro Zdero, has presented its 2027 budget project, totaling approximately $5.9 trillion pesos. This represents a 33.78% increase compared to the 2026 budget.
Despite the overall budget growth, Minister of Finance Alejandro Abraam confirmed that the allocation for state personnel includes only an 18% update. This figure was calculated based on the inflationary projections used to draft the budget. The implementation of this increase remains subject to provincial resource evolution and tax collection, specifically regarding coparticipation revenues.
The budget also proposes a slight reduction in the number of state positions, forecasting 74,294 posts for 2027 compared to 74,626 in 2026. A new provision in the project links the final size of the workforce to the number of employees leaving through voluntary retirement schemes. This measure was not present in the 2026 budget. The proposed workforce includes 68,294 permanent positions and 6,000 temporary roles.
