Chaco professionals protest appointment of architect to lead Cadastre

Professionals in Chaco, Argentina, are protesting the provincial executive's decision to appoint an architect to lead the Cadastre agency. Carlos Diez, president of the Council of Surveyors, argues that the appointment violates Decree 1568 and existing regulations, which state that the director of Cadastre must be a surveying professional.

Surveyors expressed concern that the move undermines the technical nature of the role and disrupts recent progress in digitalization. The sector had previously seen positive results under the leadership of surveyor Silvia de Ipaolo.
