Latin American judicial and labor conflicts escalate

Various judicial and labor conflicts are unfolding across Latin America. In Argentina, the Superior Tribunal de Justicia of Chaco has ordered salary deductions for judicial staff participating in strikes, escalating tensions over a legislative project regarding judicial salaries. Additionally, the tribunal faces internal divisions regarding the implementation of civil jury trials.

In the industrial sector, workers at the Fate plant in San Fernando are resisting a court-ordered eviction. The Sindicato Único de Trabajadores del Neumático Argentino (SUTNA) has labeled the eviction a “disparate jurídico” and is organizing protests to defend jobs against what they describe as an illegal lockout.

In Costa Rica, judicial selection processes are underway, with 20 candidates vying for a seat in the Supreme Court's Third Chamber, and Roxana Chacón seeking reelection to the Second Chamber. Meanwhile, in Peru, several Supreme Court justices are informally campaigning for the presidency of the Judiciary. In Venezuela, the Sintracoproal union is demanding salary equalization for public employees in Anzoátegui to address economic disparities.
