Chad commemorates statesman Mahamat Abdoulaye Senoussi

Seven years after his passing in Paris, Chad commemorates Mahamat Abdoulaye Senoussi, a prominent engineer, diplomat, and statesman. Known to his inner circle as ‘Tournesol’, Senoussi was recognized for his loyalty to the late Marshal of Chad, Idriss Deby Itno.

Born in Biltine in 1952, Senoussi was an electrotechnical engineer educated at the University of Ljubljana. His career spanned military activism with groups such as the FPL, FROLINAT, and GUNT, as well as significant administrative roles. He served as the Director General of the Société Tchadienne d’Eau et d’Électricité (STEE) starting in 2009.
