Chad Duell expresses interest in returning to soap operas

Actor Chad Duell has expressed his readiness to return to daytime television following his departure from the ABC soap opera ‘General Hospital’. Duell, who portrayed Michael Corinthos for nearly 15 years, recently shared that he was surprised by the production's decision to recast his role.

Duell stated in an interview that he had taken a hiatus to manage personal matters, including the passing of his father and the birth of his son. He had provided notice to executive producer Frank Valentini and did not anticipate that the character would be recast. While Duell’s final episodes aired in January 2025, Rory Gibson debuted as the new Michael Corinthos in May 2025.

Duell noted that he is open to joining other daytime dramas, such as ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ or ‘The Young and the Restless’, and is willing to undergo screen tests for new opportunities.
