Chad Everly detained after killing ex-partner’s family in Saltillo

Former U.S. Marine and ex‑Texas police officer Chad Everly, 35, was arrested in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, after a violent incident in Saltillo that left three members of his ex‑partner Litzy’s family dead. The victims – Litzy’s mother, sister and her mother’s partner – were shot during a dispute over custody of Litzy’s three‑year‑old son, whom Everly attempted to take across the border.

Mexican federal, state and military forces, including the Navy, Army and National Guard, coordinated a cross‑border operation that located Everly’s Chevrolet truck, intercepted him before he could cross into Texas, and rescued the child. He has been placed in preventive detention and will face charges of multiple femicides, qualified homicide and attempted femicide.
