Chad honors youth at 2nd National Excellence Awards

Chad hosted the second edition of the National Youth Excellence Awards (PENJ) on October 3, 2026, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ceremony was presided over by Prime Minister Allah-Maye Halina, representing President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno.

Twelve young Chadians were honored for their achievements in various sectors, including scientific research, technology, agribusiness, culture, and the environment. Specific distinctions were also awarded for categories such as ‘Young Woman of Impact’ and perseverance. Each laureate received a trophy and a check for 10 million CFA francs.

During his address, Prime Minister Halina emphasized that the youth represent a generation of digital expertise, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, and innovation. He urged young people to use these technological opportunities to produce concrete results through hard work and perseverance, noting that such distinctions carry a responsibility toward their families and the nation.
