Chad Minister visits disability resource centers to promote inclusive education
Ahead of the 2026-2027 school year, Chad’s Minister of Social Action, Solidarity, and Humanitarian Affairs, Zara Mahamat Issa, conducted field visits to evaluate inclusive education for children with disabilities. On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, the Minister visited the Centre de Ressources pour Jeunes Aveugles (CRJA) and the Association nationale des déficients auditifs au Tchad (ANDAT).
The visits aimed to assess the operating conditions, reception, and learning environments for visually and hearing-impaired youth. During the meetings, officials from both organizations highlighted critical needs, including the necessity for specialized equipment, improved infrastructure, enhanced pedagogical support, and better professional training to facilitate socio-economic integration.
The CRJA, established in 1988, has supported over 1,500 young people in their educational and vocational journeys. The government intends to use these findings to strengthen inclusive education policies and promote equal opportunities for students with disabilities.
