Chad Ministry of Mines takes direct control of mining single window

The Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Geology in Chad has announced the transfer of the mining single window (Guichet unique minier) to its direct control. Previously managed by the National Society for the Exploitation and Marketing of Mines (SONEMIC), the entity will now operate under the exclusive authority of the ministry.

This reorganization centralizes the management of precious stones and gold. All procedures regarding authorizations, as well as the purchase, sale, import, and export of these resources, must now be conducted through dedicated ministry services. The move aims to strengthen state control over the value chain of precious minerals in Chad.
