Chad secures Olympic scholarships and judo tournament success

Chad has secured 11 Olympic Solidarity scholarships to support athlete preparation for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. Following a mission to Lausanne led by Idriss Dokony Adiker, president of the Chadian National Olympic and Sports Committee (COST), the International Olympic Committee approved funding for athletes in several disciplines, including athletics, archery, gymnastics, table tennis, and taekwondo.

In separate sporting news, Chadian judokas achieved significant success at the Semi-Open sub-regional tournament held in Maroua, Cameroon. The national team earned eight medals, consisting of four gold, two silver, and two bronze across senior, junior, and cadet categories. The Chadian National Judo Federation intends to build on this momentum ahead of the Abidjan African Open scheduled for November 2026.
