Chad Transport Minister meets with road freight professionals

Fatima Goukouni Wéddeye, Chad’s Minister of Transport, Civil Aviation, and National Meteorology, conducted a series of working visits on Friday to engage with road transport professionals. The Minister met with representatives from the National Coordination of the Chadian Land Freight Monitoring Committee in Sabangali and the Road Transporters Platform on Rue de 40.

The discussions focused on the daily challenges, working conditions, and social concerns faced by road transporters. To support these organizations, the Minister provided office equipment to both structures to enhance their operational capacities.

In response to social grievances raised by unions, the Minister announced the allocation of 10 scholarships for the children of heavy goods vehicle drivers. This initiative will be funded by the Ministry and the National Bureau of Land Freight (BNFT). The move is intended to strengthen the relationship between the administration and the transport sector while addressing the social welfare of workers.
