Chad volleyball participation threatened by lack of funding

The Chadian Volleyball Federation (FTVB) has warned that the national men's team's participation in the African Nations Volleyball Championship is at risk due to a lack of financial and logistical support from the state.

During an extraordinary session held on September 5 in N'Djamena, the FTVB executive bureau expressed concern over the absence of government assistance despite preparations made over the past month. While the federation has secured support from the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and mobilized an international coach, it maintains that the scale of the continental competition requires significant resources that have not yet been provided by Chadian authorities.

The FTVB has called on the government to take responsibility and intervene immediately. The federation stated that if no solution is found in the coming days, it may be forced to withdraw from the tournament, which is scheduled to take place in Tunis from September 13 to 26, 2026. Such a decision would carry significant sporting and institutional consequences.
