Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari agricultural processing industry faces implementation gaps
The development of transformative and complementary industries in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province is a key strategy for increasing the value-added of agricultural products, reducing waste, and creating employment. While the Jihad Agriculture Organization of the province has reported the issuance of 37 establishment licenses with a nominal capacity to absorb over 130,000 tons of agricultural products, significant questions remain regarding actual production.
There is a notable gap between the issuance of licenses and the operational status of processing units. It remains unclear how many of these 37 projects have reached the exploitation stage, how many are still under construction, and how many have stalled due to financial, executive, or raw material supply issues. Accurate data on real production levels, actual capacity utilization, and employment figures is needed to assess the true impact of these investments.
Financing also remains a critical factor. Seven priority economic projects have requested facilities totaling 336 billion tomans for the first half of the Iranian year 1405, highlighting the ongoing need for capital to move these projects from paper to active production.
