Chainlink launches infrastructure platform for autonomous AI agents

Chainlink has introduced ‘Chainlink for Agents’, an infrastructure platform designed to support autonomous AI agents within blockchain ecosystems. The platform aims to remove technical obstacles for AI innovation in the cryptocurrency sector by providing tamper-proof data feeds, protected computational processing, and cross-blockchain transaction capabilities.

The architecture relies on the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE), which serves as a coordination mechanism to bridge offchain AI decision-making with onchain smart contract execution. Through the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), these agents can perform operations and transfer assets across multiple blockchain networks. The platform is designed to be compatible with various agent development tools, including Claude Code, Cursor, OpenClaw, Hermes, and Codex.
