Chajarí optical shop faces backlash over controversial video

An optical shop in Chajarí, Entre Ríos, has sparked significant controversy following the release of a viral video that alludes to violence against women. In the footage, a man, believed to be an owner or employee, is seen placing a large black trash bag containing what appears to be a woman's legs and feet into the trunk of a car.

The video was framed as a humorous response to customers who inquire about prices without making purchases. After showing the contents of the bag, the individual ironically states that they treat all customers with kindness before closing the vehicle trunk.

The video was removed following the public outcry. Representatives from the establishment stated they had no intention of causing harm with the content. The incident occurs amid broader concerns regarding the use of gender-based violence as a comedic device in social media marketing, noting that Argentina recorded over 240 femicides between January and October of this year.
