Chaka Khan announces new funk album ‘Chakzilla’

Funk singer Chaka Khan is set to release a new album titled ‘Chakzilla’ on September 18, marking her first studio album in seven years. The project features collaborations with artists including Sia and Snoop Dogg, with production involvement from Greg Kurstin.

One of the featured tracks, ‘Curious Subject’, has already gained attention for its disco-funk base and 1980s-style synthesizers. The song explores themes of individuality and being a ‘curious subject’ through its lyrics.

In recent interviews, the 73-year-old singer has also addressed her personal life and views on relationships. Khan expressed that she is not currently looking for a partner, stating she prefers to ‘mosey along and let life do what it do’ rather than discussing potential romantic interests.
