Chalkidiki: Garbage truck driver assaulted by three tourists

A municipal garbage truck driver was violently assaulted by three Serbian tourists in Agios Nikolaos, Sithonia, in the Chalkidiki region. The incident occurred during a traffic congestion that had blocked a 500-meter stretch of road.

The victim reported that the confrontation began after he signaled to a vehicle with Serbian license plates to move back into the correct lane, as it was driving against the flow of traffic and overtaking multiple vehicles at high speed. In response, the group of three individuals allegedly blocked both lanes of traffic with their vehicles.

The driver stated that the attackers exited their cars and assaulted him while he was inside the truck's cabin. One individual reportedly climbed into the vehicle to strike him in the head, while another attacked him from the steps of the truck. The victim sustained injuries to his head, nose, ribs, and arms, including a cut on his eyebrow and various bruises. The attackers fled the scene in their vehicles following the assault, and the incident has been reported to the authorities.
