Challenge Almere-Amsterdam triathlon features top Dutch contenders

The 45th edition of the Challenge Almere-Amsterdam triathlon is set to take place on Saturday, September 12. The long-distance event features a course consisting of a 3.8-kilometer swim, a 180-kilometer bike ride, and a full marathon.

Dutch athletes are among the top contenders for the European and national titles. Milan Brons, competing in his home city of Almere for the sixth consecutive year, aims for a podium finish following previous top-ten performances.

Niek Heldoorn enters the race as a strong competitor after winning the Embrunman in August. Despite a recent cycling accident involving a collision with a car that damaged his equipment, Heldoorn has confirmed his participation with the intention of winning. Other notable Dutch participants include Pim van Diemen, Maaike Vooren, Kyra Meulenberg, Morena Stevens, and Dieske Kruisselbrink.
