KRC Genk completes 3-2 comeback victory over Westerlo

KRC Genk secured a 3-2 comeback victory against Westerlo in the Belgian Pro League after trailing by two goals early in the match. Westerlo took an early lead through Dylan Ourega in the seventh minute, followed by an own goal from Genk defender Matte Smets in the eleventh minute.

Genk began their recovery shortly before halftime when Rafiu Durosinmi converted a penalty. Bryan Heynen then equalized in the 43rd minute to bring the score to 2-2 before the break. The decisive goal was scored by substitute Aaron Bibout in the 79th minute, completing the turnaround for the hosts.

Prior to kickoff, the match included a tribute to Michiel Vandeweert, a dedicated Genk supporter. The victory marks a significant recovery for Genk following a previous loss to Zulte Waregem.
