Chally Chute wins €500,000 Irish Cesarewitch at The Curragh

Chally Chute secured victory in the €500,000 Friends Of The Curragh Cesarewitch at The Curragh on Sunday. The eight-year-old horse, trained by Ross O’Sullivan and ridden by Sam Coen, won the two-mile contest by a half-length.

This win serves as redemption for the horse, which finished as a runner-up in the same race last year after encountering trouble in running. Despite carrying a 5lb higher mark than in the previous renewal, Chally Chute overcame a large field to defeat Sirius, prepared by Willie Mullins, and Galileo Dame.

The victory is a significant achievement for owner Julie White and the O’Sullivan team, particularly as the horse had recently faced several defeats in Listed events before returning to handicap competition.
