Chalus Road and Tehran-North Freeway restricted to one-way traffic
Due to heavy traffic congestion, authorities have implemented one-way traffic restrictions on the Chalus Road and the Tehran-North Freeway. Starting at 13:00 on August 26, all vehicle movement from north to south on these two routes is prohibited, making both routes one-way from south to north.
General Ahmad Karami Asad, head of the FARAJA Traffic Police, stated that these restrictions will remain in place until the traffic load is cleared. Once congestion eases, officials will reassess the traffic situation.
In addition to the primary restrictions, heavy traffic was reported on the Haraz axis near the Chalo junction and on the old Tehran-Boomhen road near the Jajrud curves. Traffic remains heavy on the Karaj-Qazvin freeway and the Qazvin-Karaj-Tehran freeway in several locations, including Yengi Imam and Mehrshahr. Other routes, such as Firuzkuh and the Qazvin-Rasht freeway, are currently reported as flowing smoothly.
