Chamba car accident kills teacher, injures four family members

A car accident on the Chamba-Sanghani road in Himachal Pradesh resulted in the death of a 33-year-old teacher, Punita Devi, on Sunday morning. The vehicle plunged into a deep gorge near the Shalyund Nala after the driver lost control.

Four other family members were injured in the crash: Punita Devi’s husband, Harindra Kumar, their six-year-old daughter, their three-year-old son, and a 56-year-old sister-in-law. Local residents assisted in rescuing the occupants from the vehicle and transporting them to the Salooni Civil Hospital, where Punita Devi was pronounced dead.

The three-year-old son, Samarth, was in critical condition and was referred from Chamba Medical College to Tanda Medical College for further treatment. Chamba police are currently investigating the circumstances of the accident.
