Chamba flash flood: Family rescues biker using makeshift dupatta rope

A motorcyclist was rescued from a sudden flash flood on the Tunuhatti-Kakira road in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. Heavy rainfall had transformed the road into a fast-moving stream, making travel nearly impossible and trapping a rider from Mamla village in the powerful current.

A nearby family intervened to save the man, using a dupatta (traditional scarf) tied together as a makeshift rope. Two women, including a newlywed, extended the cloth to the stranded biker, who grabbed hold while family members pulled him to safety despite slippery conditions and the strength of the water. Video footage of the rescue has circulated online.
