Chamber of Public Executors holds 11th annual consultation in Vrdnik
The 11th annual consultation of public executors opened in Vrdnik, gathering legal professionals, judges, prosecutors, and lawyers to discuss the evolution of the profession and legal security for citizens.
Bojan Kostić, President of the Chamber of Public Executors, emphasized that legal science must adapt to modern life. He proposed expanding the jurisdiction of Serbian public executors to include the establishment of facts, similar to their counterparts in France and Belgium. Kostić cited recent incidents, such as a building collapse on Vojvode Vlahovića Street, as examples where such powers could have allowed executors to intervene earlier and document evidence for court.
Acting Minister of Justice Nenad Vujić expressed support for improving the profession while stressing the need for increased oversight and institutional responsibility to address public concerns. The event also featured discussions on judicial transparency and media freedom, with participation from high-ranking officials including Bojana Čogurić, President of the High Judicial Council.
