Chambly councillors criticize Mayor Alexandra Labbé

Seven municipal councillors in Chambly have issued a joint statement criticizing Mayor Alexandra Labbé, citing a significant lack of collaboration and communication within the administration.

The councillors, including Jean-François Molnar and Serge Savoie, explained that while they previously supported the mayor during the 2025 re-election, the current mandate has been marked by professional difficulties and a lack of clear direction. Specific issues cited include non-cooperation and difficulties regarding a real estate project on the site of the former golf course.

While the councillors expressed empathy for Mayor Labbé’s recent health challenges related to breast cancer, they stated that the situation has become untenable and that they have a responsibility to be authentic with citizens regarding the functional breakdown of the municipal team.
