Chamoli: Tourist rescued after rising river levels strand traveler
A tourist from Kanpur was rescued in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand after becoming stranded due to rising river water levels near Vasudhara Waterfall. The individual was on a pilgrimage to Badrinath Dham when they crossed to the other side of the river and found the return path blocked by the increasing water flow.
Local youths acted quickly to assist the stranded tourist by attempting to build a temporary wooden bridge and providing food and water to ensure their safety until professional help arrived. The Shri Badrinath Police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) subsequently arrived at the scene. Working in coordination with the local residents, the rescue teams successfully reached the other side of the river and brought the tourist back to safety.
