Champagne brands outperform still wines in 2026 market report

A new report by Brand Finance reveals that champagne brands are outperforming still wines in the global marketplace. Despite a general trend of consumers purchasing fewer bottles, luxury champagne houses are sustaining value through prestige and heritage.

Moët & Chandon remains the world’s most valuable champagne and wine brand, with its value rising 12% to US$2.32 billion. Veuve Clicquot saw the most significant growth, jumping 39% to US$1.43 billion and moving from fourth to second place. Dom Pérignon also recorded a 21% increase, reaching US$300 million.

In contrast, several major still wine brands experienced declines. Penfolds saw its value drop by 32% to US$776 million, while Chinese producer Changyu fell 22% to US$641 million. Other notable declines included Yellow Tail and Beringer. However, Barefoot remains the strongest brand in terms of its Brand Strength Index, with a value of US$3.1 billion.
