PSG vs Barcelona match to proceed amid French unrest

The UEFA Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona is scheduled to proceed at the Parc des Princes despite widespread civil unrest across France. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez confirmed that the fixture will not be postponed, even as authorities have acknowledged losing control in several major cities following a weekend of looting, rioting, and protests against the cost of living and public service cuts.

To manage the security situation, Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu has instructed regional prefects to implement localized curfews in affected areas. Nationwide, more than 2,000 people have been arrested, and approximately 1,000 police officers and firefighters have reported injuries.

In response to the match conditions, UEFA has requested that Barcelona wear their orange kit from the previous season to ensure visual clarity and avoid confusion with PSG's colors. Other European fixtures, including Lille versus Galatasaray, are also expected to proceed as planned.
