Champs Libres aux Poules organizes animal rescue and adoption operations

The association Champs Libres aux Poules is organizing rescue operations to find new homes for farm animals destined for slaughter.

In the Gers region, the association is seeking to rehome 70 young black turkeys. This initiative aims to preserve an ancient French breed that is becoming increasingly rare due to industrial farming practices. The rescue was prompted by a sexing error in the breeding facility. Potential adopters are required to provide large, secure outdoor spaces and specific sanitary precautions.

Additionally, several hundred red hens, approximately eighteen months old, are being offered for adoption in Laloubère. Supported by the local municipality, this operation seeks to provide these birds with a life away from intensive farming. Since 2020, the association reports having helped over 160,000 chickens find new lives through the efforts of its volunteers.
