Chan Chan Archaeological Complex featured by China's CGTN
A journalistic team from the China Global Television Network (CGTN) visited the Chan Chan Archaeological Complex in Trujillo, Peru, to document the site’s history and cultural diversity. The coverage aims to broadcast the region's heritage to audiences in China and globally.
During the visit, reporters Beatriz Hou and Lulu Wang documented the mud architecture and reliefs of the ancient Chimú civilization at Chan Chan, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The team also visited Huaca de la Luna and the traditional totora reed boats in Huanchaco.
Following discussions between the Ministry of Culture and the Chinese Ambassador to Peru, Song Yang, a strategic alliance has been established to promote regional tourism through CGTN. Additionally, authorities are evaluating technological cooperation to improve the protection of the archaeological complex through video surveillance and prevention measures against El Niño weather phenomena.
